ECDIS Train the Trainer

Dokuz Eylul University Maritime Faculty, Turkey, in cooperation with Transas Marine, Sweden, carried out a "Train the Trainer" course for the leacturers of maritime colleges who use simulators for training. The course goal was to provide new expertise and update simulator users on training methodology and efficient use of simulators.

 

The training was attended by 21 lecturers from 12 different colleges. The programme consisted of Navigational Simulator and Engine Room Simulator courses, also covering developments in ARPA radar and ECDIS, innovations in maritime training and new simulators' applications. As a part of this programme a Facebook Group was created, which became a perfect platform for communication and information exchange between the lectures of different colleges.

4-level ECDIS Concept
