The ECDIS Revolution

With the initiation of Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) compliance looming in 2012, many vessels will be struggling to make the deadline. Furthermore, although new-built ships and yachts in particular will have been fitted with ECDIS, many operators will not be adequately trained to use the equipment or understand the system and its capabilities.

Bringing together industry stakeholders, The ECDIS Revolution will be a 2 day conference and exhibition designed to highlight and resolve key areas of concern and present solutions that will assist vessels and operators in achieving ECDIS compliance.

The ECDIS revolution will consist of a two day conference, with an interactive exhibition of ECDIS equipment running alongside on both days.

Targeting ECDIS suppliers, purchasers, operators and trainers as well as the relevant associations and regulatory bodies, The ECDIS Revolution will offer a valuable business and learning forum for anyone affected by the forthcoming ECDIS/STCW regulations.

4-level ECDIS Concept

The Transas Marine 4-level ECDIS concept is designed to provide an IMO compliant solution for the shipping companies. The range of product packages Standard, Standard+, Premium and Premium+, features Transas Navi-Sailor software applied through all systems. All packages include selected standard features with an extensive range of additional options.

Anders Rydlinger, Transas Marine Product Development Director says the objective is to provide a solution to the market where a "Standard" system features the best available quality and at the same time is user-friendly and cost-efficient. On another side, there are shipping companies preferring to utilise a comprehensive technology going beyond IMO requirements. This 4-level concept is developed to cover all market requirements.
